Oh how did this happen so fast! I have these older two in school full time and they literally were born yesterday. They were so excited for school to start. We had many long talks leading up to the big day about being a friend, being kind, being respectful to teachers and so on. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I am in this mom world knee deep and I truly love it. I love their little personalities blooming.
Laney woke up the first day at 4:30am dressed and ready in our room with her shoes and backpack on. Alex and I just started laughing because while we were surprised...we sort of weren't. The excitement is just way too much for her sometimes. She woke Crew up at 5am (big mistake if you know him...but he was a good sport) They both did their morning routine and were happy to check those boxes off. (devoured The Entitlement Trap book this summer and I'm trying hard to make some sort of chore system stick!)
Walking them up to school was so fun for us and I could have easily let myself get emotional, but didn't want to make them feel those emotions since they were so excited. I'm just so happy to be in this stage and learning to soak it up daily! They will be graduating high school soon and then real life starts. It all goes too fast. Cliche I know. All in all they had a great day. So much love for them.

Our Soccer Boy
We signed C up for soccer this year after taking two years off! He said he was ready to try again since he plays soccer at recess and that means he's "legit." (his words)
So we gave it a go! The first game went well....until the last half. The waterworks came out when Crew realized the game was nearly over and he hadn't scored a goal yet. (the coach joked with him that if he scored a goal, then his parents would pay him $20!) *he doesn't know that this boy takes bets like that very seriously.* So he stomped off the field in tears since he wouldn't get $20! HA The rollercoaster of motherhood was very much present that day. It was hard consoling him...but also telling him to toughen up and maybe next week he can try again.
His next game he scored his first GOAL and I missed it. *cue my tears* I had a shoot that day so Alex stepped in for me. So I am so glad one of us was there but I hate missing that. He was over the moon and couldn't wait to tell me. So proud of that boy.

Newport 2019 Day 4
The last day is always a sad day! While I was anxious to stop having sand everywhere 24/7, I was super sad to get back home and start our routines back up!
My friend and I headed to the Mcgee & Co. tent sale! This store is just so dreamy and I was dying to go. It was fun to see it in person.
Then we headed to the beach for another day of fun! Around dinner time we said bye to one family who had to head home that night. The rest of us went to dinner and then to Balboa Island! It was a perfect weather night for all of the kids (no complainers) and the ferris wheel was a hit for everyone but Crew. haha He was set on NO PICTURES this entire trip too. Which is why he is pouting in most of them. Makes for a good laugh. The kids made sure we remembered to let them pick out a souvenir! They each chose a keychain for their backpacks. We just had so much fun with everyone and feel so thankful we were able to take this trip!

Newport 2019 Day 3
Friday and Saturday were our all-day-beach days! First we walked to breakfast and had quite the experience there with 9 kids. Oh so fun. We then packed snacks and headed to the beach. Some other friends from Arizona were there too for break so they hung out with this these 2 days! The kids loved having more friends to play with. I couldn't keep Laney out of the shaded baby tent! She loves babies and would not stop holding them. Peter broke free this day! He loved the *ice* cold water and played in it for hours. Crew kept his winter coat on nice and snug. Love that boy.
Us moms had a handstand contest...I guess you could call it that? but the husbands all doubted us so naturally we had to prove them wrong!
